The BLUES CLUES project was masterminded by Guido Sfondrini (voice and harmonica) and Renato Amici(Voice and Guitar) and fuelled by an immense love of  the blues. It all began  in March 2003 and in the next few months they were joined by permanent members of the band, in chronological order: Marino Caraffa (electric bass), Gianfranco Del Puppo aka Frankie Billy Pupone (drums) and Ettore 'Kid' Cappelletti (guitar and voice).
The music B.C. plays is electric blues with one eye on Chicago and the other on Anglo-American revival blues from the ‘60s. Their current repertoire includes original renditions of well-known and lesser well-known blues standards.
B.C. have also begun to work on their own songs, two of which, I’M A DOG and WORK’S JUST A DRAG, they chose to play at the preliminary heats for BLUES IN 2004, enabling the band to  play at the first live heat held at JUX TAP in Sarzana in April 2004. B.C. also cultivate an interest in acoustic blues using a Dobro guitar to characterise their sound.
They have played many  live gigs in the last 2 years, mainly in the north of Lombardy in pubs and at ARCI community centres and festivals. BLUES CLUES were also invited to play live at the party thrown to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of EL PASO CAFE, a famous pub specialising in blues and American roots music in Bellinzona in Switzerland.
B.C have considerable live talent, good technique and feeling in their approach to blues, Xavier’s  excellent slide guitar distinguishes their sound and the frequent use of 2 solo voices gives them a degree of originality. Marino and Franky Billy Pupone’s rhythm section is tight and potent. Renato’s guitar work is the nucleus and his solos are sharp and hard-hitting. Last, but not least, Guido’s raw, howling voice sings his blues with legends such as Howlin’ Wolf and Captain Beefheart in mind—In short, don’t miss the chance to hear them live!!
In love with the blues, collectors of vinyl and CDs, connoisseurs of this type of music and its history, they wish to contribute to the spread of BLUES CULTURE at a time when the music you hear on radio and TV (apart from some rare exceptions) is more and more commercial, slavishly “fashionable”, shoddy and increasingly resembling  advertising jingles….

BLUES CLUES proudly bucks the trend!!!
